Arrival to Medan – Sumatra’s major metropolis and the fourth biggest Indonesian city (flight ticket to Medan can be arranged on request). Your guide will meet and greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

After breakfast, we will start our jungle adventure by setting off on a 3-hour scenic drive to Bukit Lawang, the entry point to Gunung Leuser National Park. During the ride, we will admire the landscape of misty rainforest and oil palm plantations. On site, we will start a trek into the jungle to explore the marvelous wildlife. The national park is the natural habitat of Sumatra’s indigenous animals: elephants, rhinos, tigers, and leopards. A one-hour hike will bring us face to face with wild orangutans living freely in the deep tropical forest. After observing orangutans, we will take a lunch break (lunch box provided for you). Later, we will continue our trek to the camping area. Enjoy the dinner, freshly cooked by your guide. This night is special because we will spend it inside the jungle, in comfortable tents, surrounded by the sounds of nature.

After breakfast, we leave the campsite and continue trekking through the forest to the river. On the way, we will enjoy the lunch near the river. Later, drifting slowly down the Bohorok River on a jungle raft, we will observe the wildlife such as gibbons, orangutans, sun bears and many bird species. Upon arrival to the village, we will check-in to the hotel and regenerate after trekking.

After leisurely breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport in Medan for your return flight to Bali or Jakarta. At your request, we can connect this tour with another program. Farewell to Sumatra
